if the said rent or anie part thereof shal[l] be behind and unpaid by the space of ffifty dayes next after anie of the said feasts or daies of paim[en]t aforesaid and the said John Redferne or some other able [and] sufficient ten[a]nt fitt and able to use and exercise the trade of a miller with his family shall from time to time during the said terme of one and twentie yeares be resident and inhabitant in and upon the foresaid mill and millhouse and shal[l] be fitt and ready to grind the mault corne and graine of the inhabitants of the said Townelands att the said mill and shall doe suite att the Court Barron to be holden for such mannor as his ma[ies]tie shall erect upon or within the Proporc[i]on of land called the Salters Proporc[i]on in the late countie of Londonderry from three weekes to three weekes if the same shal[l] be soe often held and shall keepe and mainteine the foresaid mill and millhouse and other the p[re]misses in good and sufficient reparac[i]ons during the said terme And that his ma[ies]tie will be gratiously pleased to confirme this agreement by his l[ett]res patents under the great Seale of England and that the said John Redferne shall coven[a]nt and grant thereby for him his heires executors administrators and assignes to performe what is hereby agreed on his part In witnes whereof the said Commissioners and the said John Redfern have putt to their hands the day and yeare abovewritten:

The said three and twentieth day of September the foresaid Commissioners for and on his ma[ies]t[ie]s behalfe by vertue of the said Commission and Hester Machett of Magharafelt in the late countie of Londonderry widdow doe conclude and agree that the said Esther and her assignes shall have and hold one messuage or tenement garden and backside with th[e] appurtena[n]c[es] in Magharafelt aforesaid now or late in the tenure or occupac[i]on of the said Ester or her assignes w[hi]ch said messuage was lately built by Michaell Machett deceased late husband of the said hester and all waies and passages to the foresaid p[re]misses or anie part thereof belonging or formerly enioyed therewith Excepting and reserving unto his ma[ies]tie his heires and successors all timber and timber trees storiers saplings and great trees mynes and quarryes in upon or belonging to [th]e p[re]misses or anie part thereof and all such reasonable and convenient waies and passages over the p[re]misses for the ten[a]nts and occupiers of his ma[ies]t[ie]s other lands as have formerly binn used for the terme of one and twenty yeares from the ffeast of Phillip and Jacob now last past for and under the yearly rent of Twenty shilling[es] sterling paiable unto his ma[ies]tie his heires and successors into the Receipt of the Exchequer in England or unto the hands of the Receiver of his ma[ies]tie his heires and successors for the time being for the Reven[n]ue of Londonderry al[l]s[o] Derry and Colerane or either of them att the ffeasts of All Saints and Phillip and Jacob yearly by equall porc[i]ons upon condic[i]on that the said terme shall cease and be void if the said rent or anie part thereof shal[l] be behind and unpaid by the space of ffifty daies next after anie of the said ffeasts or daies of paim[en]t aforesaid And the said Hester or some other able and sufficient ten[a]nt with his family shall from time to time during the said terme of one and twenty yeares be resident and inhabitant in and upon the foresaid p[re]misses and grind att his ma[ies]t[ie]s mill within the late Mannor of Sal or Proporc[i]on of land called the Salters Proporc[i]on all his her and their mault corne and graine which he or they shall expend or use upon the p[re]misses or being ground shall sell to anie person or persons and pay for grinding thereof to the Miller of the said mill for the time being the sixteenthe part of all the said mault corne and graine and shall doe suite att the Court Barron to be houlden for such Mannor as his ma[ies]tie shall erect uppon or within the said Proporc[i]on of land called the Salters Proporc[i]on in the late county of Londonderry al[l]s[o] Colerane from three weekes to three weekes if the same shal[l] be soe often held and shall keepe and mainteine the foresaid messuage and p[re]misses in good and sufficient reparac[i]ons and inclosures And that his ma[ies]tie wil[l] be gratiously pleased to confirme this agreement by his l[ett]res patents under the great Seale of England [and] that the said Hester shall coven[a]nt and grant thereby for her her heires executors administrators and assignes to performe what is hereby agreed on her part In
if the said rent or any part thereof shall be behind and unpaid by the space of fifty days next after any of the said feasts or days of payment aforesaid, and the said John Redfern or some other able and sufficient tenant fit and able to use and exercise the trade of a miller, with his family shall from time to time during the said term of one and twenty years be resident and inhabitant in and upon the foresaid mill and millhouse, and shall be fit and ready to grind the malt, corn, and grain of the inhabitants of the said townlands at the said mill, and shall do suit at the court baron to be holden for such manor as his Majesty shall erect upon or within the Proportion of land called the Salters’ Proportion in the late county of Londonderry, from three weeks to three weeks if the same shall be so often held, and shall keep and maintain the foresaid mill and millhouse and other the premises in good and sufficient reparations during the said term. And that his Majesty will be graciously pleased to confirm this agreement by his letters patent under the Great Seal of England, and that the said John Redfern shall covenant and grant thereby for him, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns to perform what is hereby agreed on his part. Hester Matchett
The said three and twentieth day of September, the foresaid commissioners for and on his Majesty’s behalf by virtue of the said commission, and Hester Matchett of Magherafelt in the late county of Londonderry, widow, do conclude and agree that the said Hester and her assigns shall have and hold one messuage or tenement, garden, and backside with the appurtenances in Magherafelt aforesaid, now or late in the tenure or occupation of the said Hester or her assigns, which said messuage was lately built by Michael Matchett, deceased, late husband of the said Hester, and all ways and passages to the foresaid premises or any part thereof belonging or formerly enjoyed therewith. Excepting and reserving unto his Majesty, his heirs and successors, all timber and timber trees, storiers, saplings and great trees, mines, and quarries in, upon, or belonging to the premises or any part thereof, and all such reasonable and convenient ways and passages over the premises for the tenants and occupiers of his Majesty’s other lands as have formerly been used, for the term of one and twenty years from the feast of Phillip and Jacob now last past, for and under the yearly rent of twenty shillings sterling payable unto his Majesty, his heirs and successors, into the receipt of the Exchequer in England or unto the hands of the Receiver of his Majesty, his heirs, and successors, for the time being for the revenue of Londonderry, also Derry and Coleraine or either of them, at the feasts of All Saints and Phillip and Jacob, yearly by equal portions upon condition that the said term shall cease and be void if the said rent or any part thereof shall be behind and unpaid by the space of fifty days next after any of the said feasts or days of payment aforesaid.
