[...] for the terme of one and twenty years from the feast of the Annunciation of the blessed virgin Mary now last past for and under the yearly rent of ffive pounds sterling payable unto his ma[ies]tie his heires and successors into the Receipt of his ma[ies]t[ie]s Exchequer in England or unto the hands of the Receivor of his ma[ies]tie his heires and successors for the time being for the Re venue of Londonderry als[o] Derry and Colerane or either of them att the ffeasts of St Michaell the Archangell and Th[e] an[n]unciac[i]on of the blessed virgin Mary by equall porc[i]ons uppon condic[i]on that the said terme shall cease and be void if the said rent or any p[ar]t thereof shal[l] be behind and unpaid by the space of ffifty daies next after anie of the said ffeasts or daies of paim[en]t afo resaid and the said Robert Thornton or his assignes shall att his or their propp[er] costs and chardges within ffive yeares now next ensueing erect and build and fully finishe uppon the p[re]misses two sufficient dwelling houses of Timber stone or bricke after the manner of Englishe hous es the one of them to be three storyes highe att the least and to conteine tenn roomes att the least and the other to be two storyes highe att the least and to conteyne six roomes att the least and that the said Robert or some other able and sufficient ten[a]nt shall with his family from tyme to tyme after the building thereof during the residue of the said terme of one and thirty yeares be resident and inhabitant in and uppon either of the said houses and grind att such mill or mills as his ma[ies]tie hath or as he his heires or successors shall erect or build within the aforesaid late Citty or the lib[er]tyes thereof all his and their mault corne and graine w[hi]ch he or they shall expend or use uppon the p[re]misses or being ground shall sell to anie p[er]son or p[er]sons and pay for the grinding thereof to the Miller of the said mill or mills for the tyme being the sixteenthe p[ar]t of all the sai d malt corne and graine and shall keepe and mainteine the aforesaid houses after the building thereof and other the p[re]misses in good and sufficient rep[ar]ac[i]ons and inclosures during the said terme and that his ma[ies]tie wil[l] be gratiously pleased to confirme this agreem[en]t by his l[ett]res Patents under the great Seale of England and that the said Robert Thornton shall coven[a]nt and grant thereby for himselfe his heires Executo[r]s administrators and assignes to p[er]forme what is hereby agreed on his part In witnes whereof the said Commission[er]s and the said Robert Thornton have put to their hands the day and yeare abovewritten:

The said nine and twentieth day of August the aforesaid Commissioners for and on his ma[ies]t[ie]s behalfe by vertue of the said Commission and Henry Vaughan of Boonecranagh in the county of Donnagall Esquire doe conclude and agree that the said Henry and his assignes shall have and hold one messuage or tenem[en]t and the backside thereunto adioining with th[e] appurten[a]nc[e]s being a corner house and neere unto the markett place in the late Citty of Londonderry and now or late in the tenure or occupac[i]on of the said Henry Vaughan or his assignes for the terme of one and twenty yeares from the ffeast of Th[e] an[n]unciac ion of the blessed virgin Mary now last past for and under the yearly rent of Seaven pound s and tenn shillings sterling paiable in such manner and att such dayes and tymes and with under and uppon such further and the like condic[i]on coven[a]nts and agreem[en]ts as in the aforesaid agreement made by the said Commissioners and Edward Rowley beforenamed are conteined In witnes whereof the said Commission[er]s and the said Henry Vaughan have putt to their hands the day and yeare abovewritten:

[…] for the term of one and twenty years from the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary now last past, for and under the yearly rent of five pounds sterling payable unto His Majesty his heirs and successors into the Receipt of His Majesty’s Exchequer in England or unto the hands of the Receiver of His Majesty his heirs and successors for the time being for the Revenue of Londonderry also Derry and Coleraine or either of them at the feasts of St Michaell the Archangell and the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary by equal portions upon condition that the said term shall cease and be void if the said rent or any part thereof shall be behind and unpaid by the space of fifty days next after any of the said feasts or days of payment aforesaid, and the said Robert Thornton or his assigns shall at his or their proper costs and charges, within five years now next ensuing, erect and build and fully finish upon the premises two sufficient dwelling houses of timber, stone, or brick after the manner of English houses, the one of them to be three stories high at the least and to contain ten rooms at the least, and the other to be two stories high at the least and to contain six rooms at the least, and that the said Robert or some other able and sufficient tenant shall, with his family, from time to time after the building thereof, during the residue of the said term of one and thirty years, be resident and inhabitant in and upon either of the said houses and grind at such mill or mills as His Majesty hath, or as he, his heirs or successors shall erect or build within the aforesaid late city or the Liberties thereof, all his and their malt, corn, and grain which he or they shall expend or use upon the premises, or being ground shall sell to any person or persons and pay for the grinding thereof to the miller of the said mill or mills, for the time being the sixteenth part of all the said malt, corn, and grain and shall keep and maintain the aforesaid houses after the building thereof, and other the premises, in good and sufficient reparations and enclosures during the said term, and that His Majesty will be graciously pleased to confirm this agreement by his letters patent under the Great Seal of England, and that the said Robert Thornton shall covenant and grant thereby for himself, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns to perform what is hereby agreed on his part. In witness whereof the said commissioners and the said Robert Thornton have put to their hands the day and year abovewritten:

Henry Vaughan 127.

The said nine and twentieth day of August, the aforesaid commissioners for and on His Majesty’s behalf by virtue of the said commission, and Henry Vaughan of Buncrana in the county of Donegal, esquire, do conclude and agree that the said Henry and his assigns shall have and hold one messuage or tenement and the backside thereunto adjoining, with the appurtenances, being a corner house and near unto the market-place in the late city of Londonderry and now or late in the tenure or occupation of the said Henry Vaughan or his assigns, for the term of one and twenty years from the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary now last past, for and under the yearly rent of seven pounds and ten shillings sterling payable in such manner and at such days and times and with, under, and upon such further and the like condition, covenants, and agreements as in the aforesaid agreement made by the said commissioners and Edward Rowley beforenamed are contained. In witness whereof the said commissioners and the said Henry Vaughan have put to their hands the day and year abovewritten:
